Velma Gibbons, 84, passed away on November 21, 2020, at her home in Clermont, FL.
She was born on May 4, 1936, in Water Valley, MS to Earl and Clister Barron. Her father was a Deputy Sheriff of Water Valley, MS. Her mother worked for Big Yank Manufacturing and later became a homemaker.
After graduating high school in Water Valley, MS., Velma became a military wife and mother of three. Her interests included family, gardening, and her dog Kobie. She spent the majority of her career in accounting. She was an active member of the ABC Club.
Velma is survived by her sister Joyce Sullivan; brother Glenn Barron; 3 children James Lipscomb, Zandra Goolsby, and Cynthia Blagg; 8 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Clister Barron and her brother, Macon Barron.
She was loved by many and will truly be missed.
A memorial and service will be held at Bushnell Military Cemetery at a later date.
