Stanley Dale Hunt 87 of Lead Hill, Arkansas, passed away on February 10, 2024, at his home. He was born on April 26, 1936, in Swan Missouri. Stan was the 5th son of Ray Otto and Eva Fay (Bigelow) Hunt of Forsyth, Missouri.
Stanley was a lifelong auto mechanic, owner and operator of Hunt’s Automotive in Harrison, Arkansas until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, learning to love it from his father as he grew up. Stanley was a graduate of Forsyth High School, class of 1954. He was a National Guard Veteran, and he served his country with great honor.
For 26 years Stan, his wife Barbara and daughter Dalah spent many happy years camping, hunting, and fishing all over Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado and Canada. He was lucky enough to kill a “record book” elk during one of his many trips to Colorado. After the death of Barbara, he was blessed another 36 years with his second wife Lois who shared his same interest and loved the outdoors, traveling, camping, hunting and fishing. There were numerous times she caught more fish and kept him busy netting them. When he was catching more fish than her, she would accuse him of seining the bank.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents and first wife Barbara Ann Saunders Hunt (deceased 1987) and his second wife Lois Freeman Hunt (deceased 2021). His brothers, Basil Paul “Buster”, Bobby Ray, Kenneth Howard and Cecil Otto Hunt and sisters Eula Mae Knight, Jesse Fay and Sandra Elaine Hunt.
He is survived by his daughters Dalah Hunt Elijah of Lead Hill, Arkansas and Linda Croney of Shawnee, Kansas, a brother Dennis Hunt of Bergman, Arkansas and sisters Helen Listerman of Ozark, Missouri and Patsy Wells of Bergman, Arkansas, 2 grandchildren Terry Dale Wolfe of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Barbara Faye Wolfe of Bakersfield, Missouri and 5 great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews and many dear friends and loved ones.
Dalah would like to give a special Thank You to Patsy Stapleton & Richard Dryer for being there for her dad when she had to be away. He thought the world of the both of you! I am forever grateful, and I Love You Both for all you done!!
Funeral service will be held at the First Assembly of God in Harrison, visitation at 10am-11am, service to begin at 11am. Officiate Brother Todd Hunt. Interment to follow at Maple Wood Cemetery.
