Ross William Thornton

Ross William Thornton, of Bergman, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas. He was 81 years old. 

He was the son of Earl and Modean (Cantrell) Thornton, born on May 1, 1944, in Bergman, Arkansas.

Ross is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janie May (Smothers) Thornton; his parents; two siblings, Thomas Clifton Thornton and Linda Louann (Thornton) Lee; and son-in-law, Robin Martin.

Survivors include daughters, Angie Martin, Leanna Harmon and Aneita Ferrari, two brothers, Donald Wayne Thornton and wife, Rhebeeda, and Richard Thornton and wife, Nancy; a rowdy bunch of nephews and nieces; and a host of other family and friends. 

Ross will be remembered for his outlandish sense of humor and laughter, along with his love for his family. He loved to hunt and fish. And his career in trucking was a big part of his huge heart.
A graveside service will be held on September 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM, located at Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, Arkansas.  Mark Rice will be officiating the service.  Pallbearers are Billy Thornton, Brad Thornton, Scott Thornton, F. Alan Lee, Bryan Lee and Brad Rodery.
