Ricky William ("Big Rick") Akins

Ricky William Akins  (Big Rick), 63, of Lead Hill AR., was born, October 5, 1957, in Harrison Arkansas. Ricky passed away on September 13, 2021.

Ricky graduated Lead Hill High School and went to college for Agricultural Mechanics and made the Dean’s list and President’s list. He is a veteran and served in the Army.  Ricky is preceded in death by both his parents; Levy and Syble Akins, his son; Joshua Akins, and mother-in-law; Sally Thomas.

Ricky is Survived by his wife; Chrystal Akins, his sons; Jeremy Akins (Michelle) of Green Forest, and Theo Christian (Garrett Herman) of Richland, Washington. His Daughters; Candice Johnston (David) of Pendleton, Oregon, and Kristina Christian of Conway. His brothers; Rob Akins (Shirley) of Diamond City, Tim Akins (Ann) of Yellville, and Bob Trail (Debi) of Yellville. His sisters; Lisa Gibbs of Green Forest, Julia Wright and her fiancé (Joey Crump) of Lead Hill. His Granddaughter; Sarah Blalack and fiancé (Ethan Castleberry) of Hickory Plains. His grandson; Branden Akins and his Fiancé (Rachael) of Berryville, Levy Akins of Mountain Home, and Camden Johnston of Pendleton, Oregon. His Great Grandkids; Abigal, Avery, and Eljah.

Rick was a hard worker. If you knew Rick, you knew there was nothing he could not master if it sparked his interest.  He worked as a lead maintenance man at Tysons for 16 years completing his work there as a master Industrial electrician. He retired due to a work injury that left him disabled. Rick still lived life to the fullest! Family meant everything to him.  In Ricky’s eyes, if you were a friend, you were a part of his family. He was determined to make people happy and everyone walked away knowing they had a true friend in Ricky.  Ricky was loved by so many people and will be greatly missed.

A Potluck celebration of life will be held at 4:00pm September 19, 2021, at the Lead Hill Park Pavilion. Ray Clopton will welcome us and please bring a dish and your own drink to celebrate
