Michael Rex Salmon, 74, passed away April 5, 2022, in Harrison. He was born November 29, 1947, in Harrison, Arkansas, to Rex and Merle Salmon. Michael leaves his wife, Rae Ann Salmon, Daughter, Kim Carter, Son in-law, Tony Carter, his grandchild, Kelsea Lowery and her husband (Levi Lowery), his granddaughter, Maggie Salmon, 2 great grandchildren, Lainey Lowery, Rhett Lowery, brother, Pat Salmon and his wife (Pam Salmon).
Michael was an Arkansas Naïve born and raised in the Natural State. He went to Harrison high school and became a Truck Driver for Mass Merchandising for 25 plus years! He enjoyed camping on the White River in Cotter with his family. Family would play instruments at the campground and others would gather around and listen. Camping was a family bonding event everybody cherished! Michael loved to start every day with a glass of Pepsi. He enjoyed watching Animal Planet and The Andy Griffith Show. In 1965, Michael joined the navy and completed his contract as an E4.
Michael met his beloved wife in the most ordinary way! Rae Ann was a carhop at What-A-Burger and Michael was the customer who nonchalantly asked for her phone number. Michael will forever be remembered as a family man, jokester and animal lover! He always enjoyed buying fireworks, stuffing easter eggs, and playing Santa Claus for the kids. He was a kid at soul and always knew how to make everyone laugh. Later in life, He was known for taking care of the stray cats around the nursing home he lived at. He will be greatly missed and loved by so many.
Michael Salmon is preceded in death by; both his parents, Rex Salmon, Merle Salmon, his son, Michael Salmon, his three sisters, Debbie, Dinah, and Jane.
