Michael Dean Russell, 66, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away on August 2, 2024, at his home after an extension stay in the hospital. He was born on November 24, 1957, in Laramie, Wyoming, the son of William and Lydia (Paxton) Russell.
Mike loved his little dog Fancy. She is the cutest little white ball of fur. Fancy was his right-hand man, following him everywhere. If Mike went somewhere, you would see Fancy tagging along beside him. Mike enjoyed going fishing and watching westerns. Even though Mike only got to serve a short time in the military because of health reasons, he was very proud of being in the Army and National Guard. This may have been where his love of eagles developed. He loved eagles so much; he collected eagle statues and figurines.
About 15 years ago, Mike changed his life around and started attending church at Summit Pentecostal Church of God, he became a Christian and was baptized. He enjoyed attending church and hearing the Gospel.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lydia. Also, his sister Joyce Russell Adams and brother James Andrew Russell.
Mike is survived by his sisters Rhonda Mullens and Carolyn Cates. Also, he leaves behind his children, grandchildren and many more family members and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday August 10th, at Pentecostal Church of God in Summit, Arkansas, Visitation starting at noon and services at 1:00pm with Ronnie Harris officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Interment to follow at George’s Creek Cemetery in Yellville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his church to help families in need. Funds may be mailed to Pentecostal Church of God, P.O. Box 606, Summit, Arkansas 72687.
