Lonnie left this life much too soon. He didn’t get to accomplish everything he wanted to do. He ad difficulty what he wanted to be when he grew up, so he tried many things. He started his career in the Army flying chinook helicopters in Vietnam transporting troops in and out of battle. On his third tour his aircraft took enemy fire and crashed with troops on board. He was severely injured and spent many months in the hospital. This tragedy haunted hi the rest of his life. Lonnie went on to pursue many other challenges. He tried heavy construction and ventured into the music business spending many years in a recording studio in Texas. He wrote and copyrighted several songs that were recorded in his studio. He moved his act to Arkansas, where he continued in the music industry in Branson and was the light and sound director for several theaters. He decided to buy a tour bus and transported music groups such as Moe Bandy, The Kendall’s and others on tours. Tiring of that he took up photography and this led to videography and cinematography.
Lonnie’s mind was never still, always anxious for a new challenge. He took up cabinet building for a while and furnished his home with beautiful furniture. Whatever he endeavored to do, he put his all into and wasn’t satisfied with less than perfection.
Not many knew Lonnie well as he was quiet and reserved. Thos who knew him recognized his vast knowledge, multiple talents, and generous heart. His physical body failed him, but his sprit soars on!
Lonnie leaves behind his wife Anna and his precious dogs Peaches and Pepper that he loved dearly and many friends who will miss him.
