Linda Ripley Obituary

Linda Carol Ripley peacefully left her home in Compton on July 18, 2020 so she could be with her best friend, Jesus and be able to hear the angles singing.

She was born May 29, 1961 at Dr. McCoy's Clinic in Harrison to parents: Barbara Conner Couch and Jack Carroll Couch.

Linda and Randy Ripley were married in Hot Springs Village in 1980 soon after they both graduated from the Arkansas School for the Deaf in Little Rock.

Together they enjoyed trips to Disneyland, Six Flags, etc. and visits with family on Gaither Mountain. July 4th was a happy time for them since they could recognize all the should of fireworks (and swim and picnic).

Randy passed away in 2004 and her very close sister, Susan Campbell passed away in 2005. Linda was lonesome for them most of the time and also for her step-father, Dennis Fletcher, who was very dear to her.

Her grandparents, Hazel and Oliver Conner and Andie and Buck Couch proceeded her in death.

Linda is survived by her mother, Barbara Fletcher, her brothers, Jamie Couch and Tim Fletcher and her special niece, Nikita Fletcher, who always helped care for her after Randy died. Numerous other family members and friends survive.

Linda had fond memories of time spent at Angel Works in Jasper, competitions with Special Olympics at Eureka Springs and physical therapy at Mountain Crest in Harrison. Her favorite doctor was Dr. Craig Milam at Mercy Clinic and she never failed to tell him ‘I love you' in sign language.

Linda enjoyed the sounds of Harley Davidsons when Jamie and Tim would rev their engines extra loud for her. She especially like the loud mufflers on Mustangs and feeling the rhythm of gospel music on the car radio and at Faith Assembly Church. She would be honored to have everyone learn and use sign language. She was always sincere when showing someone the ‘I love you' sign.

Her family was well pleased with arrangements made by Diamond State Funeral Service of Lead Hill. Plans will be made later for a memorial service.

Notes of sympathy would be a great comfort mailed to her mother at HC 33 Box 123, Compton, AR. 72624
