Lavonnia “Vonnie” Irene Lockwood, 89, of Ridgedale, Missouri, passed away on December 4, 2023. She was born on October 16, 1934, in Galesburg, Illinois. She was the daughter of John and Verla (Holt) Cooper.
Vonnie loved life and all the people around her. She never met a stranger. She was a fun person and everybody that knew her loved her. She had a passion for cooking, and she was excellent at it. Vonnie was very talented and creative, she enjoyed arranging flowers and decorating. She and her late husband were owner/members of the Hiram Walker Rod and Gun Club in Farmington, Illinois. Vonnie was known for cooking for a crowd of people there. She was also an active member of the Moose Lodge in Farmington, Illinois. Vonnie believed in God and knew where she was going upon her death.
Vonnie is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Sara (Bird) Johnson, a son Patrick Godsell, husband Art Lockwood, and a significant other Jim Johnson.
She is survived by her sons Wesley Bird and Timothy (Darlene) Bird. Her granddaughter Jackie Johnson, two grandsons Daniel Bird and Matthew Bird. Also, a son-in-law Gerald Johnson and several great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for March 9, 2024, from 1-5pm at Farmington Moose Lodge (1001 E. Fort Street Farmington, Illinois 51531.)
