KRISTIN (BUTCH) GUNNER WURSCHMIDT
December 28.1951 - September 11, 2022
Kristin (Butch) Gunner Wurschmidt, age 70, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, joined his Lord and Savior on Sunday September 11, 2022, after losing his battle to cancer. He was born in Detroit. Michigan on December 28, 1951, to Gotfred and Betty (Inglis) Wurschmidt.
Butch was a member of the ROTC at Cody High School in Detroit, Michigan and after joined the Navy during the Vietnam War where he served on a supply ship. Following his Naval career he demonstrated his adaptability, creativity, and intelligence in the workforce. Always quickly mastering new skills and challenges made him an asset to his employers. He married and fathered 2 children; Braden Allen and Amy Jones.
Butch had a zest for life and new experiences. His many areas of interest often tested him to the limits. He played hard, loving sports and was up to try and play any game. He was a human calculator. A wonderful conversationalist who could strike up and have a meaningful conversation with the mailman, a store clerk or the CEO of a large corporation and being on any level presented to him.
A horrific car accident claimed part of Butch's right arm, and instead of slowing him down, many will say it pushed him harder and his drive to accomplish tasks sometimes pulled him away from family and friends. This made it all the more sweeter when you were able to occupy his time and enjoy his company.
His life changed dramatically for the good when he met his angel Vickie Ply. She brought a sense of calm, stability, family life and unconditional love, all while allowing and accepting Butch for the unique man he was. His focus quickly turned to Vickie. Butch became the patriarch of his new family. Forging relationships and bonds that will be forever marked by his love, wisdom, and witt. His smile will be forever imprinted on their hearts.
Butch's battle with cancer was long, and Vickie was steadfast by his side all the way. Many know that she was the reason he decided to seek treatment. Vickie, her family and Hospice of the Ozarks worked together loving and caring for Butch until the end.
Butch is survived by his children, Braden Allen and Amy (Chris) Jones, his grandaughters, his biological father Gotfred Theodore Wurschmidt, many nieces and nephews, his siblings - Scott (Nancy) Wurschmidt, Todd Wurschmidt, Kim (Dawn) Wurschmidt, Leif Wurschmidt, Tedi Young (Tim), Pam (Bill) Rusinko and Ken Jr (Jo) Eldred. The love of his life Vickie Ply, bonus son Tony (Teddie) Fehn, grandson Jonathan (Chelsee) Morris with great granddaughter Allie, grandson Jerrad (Kristin) Morris with great grandson Cash, granddaughter Jenna (Jackie II) Collins, bonus daughter Amanda (Norb) Schroder and grandchildren Melanie and Tyler, in laws Paul Hunt II and Bobbie Yohn.
We love you more Butch. See you in Heaven.
