Kenneth W. Robison

Kenneth W Robison passed from this earth Aug 24, 2023, in Mountain Home AR.  He was born Feb 7, 1942, to John E. Robison and Ruby L. (Alderson) Robison in Rogersville MO. In the 1950’s & 60’s, Ken was well known to the local SW Missouri High School community in the basketball circuit for his height (6’11 ½”) and ball playing skills. Ken graduated from Rogersville High School in 1961 and attended SMSU. Ken relocated to Kansas City MO, where he retired from City of Kansas City government office as a Computer Programmer in Oct 1997. On the day of his retirement he was honored by then Governor of MO., Mel Carnahan with Proclamation that month of November 1997 be known as Kenneth W Robison Month in recognition of Ken’s skills in the complete computerization of the City of KC MO. After his retirement Ken & wife Diana built a home near Lake Chapala, Mexico. They then returned to North KC MO, and later moved to Overland Park KS. After Diana’s death in 2019, he moved to Springdale AR and then Lakeview AR.  They made several trips to Europe and enjoyed their travels.

Ken married Maureen O’Malley in Jun 1969, to this union his son William was born.  Ken later married Diana S. Knowles in July 1991. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Maureen, wife Diana, brother-in-law Charles Long Sr. nephews Charles Long Jr, and Shaun Long, and half Brother Dale Robison. He is survived by Son William and wife, Shelley, Grandchildren Margot, Cassidy, and Cameron, Sisters Betty Robison Long & (David Jones), Barbara Robison and Niece Cheryl Rakes. Uncles Jim & Larry Alderson, and Cousins and Friends in MO and KS.

He was of the Protestant faith. He was a Kind and Gentle Soul, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  A Private Gathering will be held at a later date at Palmetto Cemetery, Greene Co., MO.
