Joseph Austin Sumrall, 23, of Omaha, Arkansas, passed away on August 4, 2023. Joey was born in Branson, Missouri, the son of Joseph Bryon Sumrall and Daleana Caprice Sumrall (Schultz) and lived his life to the fullest.
Joey is survived by his wife Salena Jo Sumrall (Poisson) of Zinc, Arkansas, who is expecting their first child. He is also survived by his father, Joseph, his mother Daleana, and a brother, Jacob Wayne Sumrall. He is also survived by great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, many cousins, and friends.
Joey was a quiet soul and spoke when something needed to be said.
Joey was a competitor and was racing 4-wheelers at four years old. Later in life, Joey loved the thrill of riding bulls, and he loved the adrenaline rush.
Joey was fearless. He loved the underdog. He would rush in and help someone if there was trouble. He was a light when people needed him.
Joey was helpful. He was a giver. He would always make time to help.
Joey loved the outdoors. He absolutely loved to fish, and any body of water was an open invitation to throw a line in, and to Joey there was nothing like an old dirt country road to take a ride on and clear your mind. Joey started welding straight out of high school and was very good at his trade. He had also recently purchased his first Harley Davidson, and he absolutely enjoyed riding his bike on these curvy Ozark roads.
Joey was a big fan of people “minding their business”, and it’s been said Joey is the Master of Irish Goodbyes.
A visitation will be held for Joey at 10AM, on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the Omaha First Baptist Church, in Omaha, Arkansas, followed by a Memorial Service at 11AM.., officiated by Pastor Gene France.
Joey’s family would like to thank the nurses and Dr’s at Mercy’s ICU in Springfield, Missouri that worked so hard for him.
Donations may be made to the family to help with funeral costs.
