John D. Sewell of Magnolia, Arkansas, passed away on October 17, 2025. He was born on November 20, 1946, in Magnolia, Arkansas, the son of Rusty and Hazel Sewell.
John enjoyed card nights, playing dominos, bowling, and spending time with his family and friends. His love for laughter and fellowship made him a cherished part of every gathering.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rusty and Hazel Sewell; brother, Ronnie Sewell; sister, Mary Nell Kinser; and son, John David Sewell.
John is survived by his daughters, Amanda Hanks and Katie Nixon, and sons, Chip Wood and Morgan Wood. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Alexis Fountain, Sarah Fountain, Veronica Wood, Sara Jane Nixon, Grace Nixon, Ethan Nixon, Chase Nixon, Paul Nixon, Orin Wood, Michah and Jacob Wood. John’s legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Emily Kathryn, John David Wilbanks, Parker Fountain, Madilyn Garcia, Kane Waddell, Edith Honeycutt, Sylas Gomez, and Mivah Wood. John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 2:00PM located at the Rugged Cross Cowboy Church, 35 Columbia Rd 47, Magnolia, Arkansas, 71753.
Arrangements are under the care of Diamond State Cremation located in Lead Hill, Arkansas.
