Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janette Dawn Bengston, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Janette passed away on March 17, 2023, at 85 years old, surrounded by her loving family.
Janette was an extraordinary woman, known for her selflessness and her heart of gold. She devoted her life to her family and was a mother to many. She had a way of making everyone feel loved and appreciated, no matter how small the gesture. Throughout her life, Janette touched the hearts of countless people with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. Her warm smile and infectious laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
Janette was born in Moline, IL on December 12, 1937. She was proceeded in death by her husband Leonard Eugene Bengston and son, Leonard Harold Bengston. Together they raised 6 children, Leonard Harold Bengston, LuAnn LoBuglio, John Eugene Bengston, Gerald D Bengston, Michael Lee Bengston, and David Bryan Bengston. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Janette was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting her family's needs before her own.
Janette never lost her positive outlook on life or her willingness to help others. She was truly a blessing to all who knew her. In her later years, Janette enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing games (especially Yahtzee), crossword puzzles, Latch Hook, a fan of Patrick Mahomes with the Kansas City Chiefs, and loving on her cat Bows. Janette was very thankful for the friends she met at Courtyard Village of Kewanee and enjoyed the exchange of letters from all her friends there. She loved nothing more than seeing her family and friends happy and thriving.
Janette leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness that will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Janette's life will be held on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at The American Legion in Kewanee, IL.
