[Harrison, Arkansas] — Holly Nguyen Lễ Ly, age 56, passed away on April 30th, 2024, surrounded by her family, following a three-year battle with colon cancer. Born on June 30th, 1967 in Phan Thiết, Vietnam, Holly was the eldest of five sisters: Kelly Ly, Vivian Ly, Valerie Ly, and Janine Ly. Her family sought refuge in the United States in 1990, where she later created a beautiful life with her husband and three children. Holly’s greatest pride and joy was her family.
She and her husband worked alongside each other for 27 years, from Michigan to California. In 2005, Holly and her husband relocated to Arkansas and opened Colorful Nail & Spa. Holly found immense joy in the relationships she built through her work, and cherished the many clients that turned into lifelong friends.
Holly was first diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2021. Despite her heartbreaking diagnosis, Holly remained resilient and in high spirits. She endured multiple surgeries and courses of chemotherapy in the years that followed. However, her illness progressed far beyond what treatment could manage.
In April of 2024, Holly and her family made the difficult decision to transition her into hospice care to focus on comfort and quality of life. She spent the last few weeks of her life with her family and friends.
Predeceased by her mother Hoa Thì Kim Lễ, who also battled cancer, Holly is survived by her husband Hoa “Bill” Van Nguyen; daughters Kimberly Ly and Tiffany Ly; son Andrew Ly and his wife Kinsey Ly.
Her family is deeply grateful for the love Holly has received and incredibly appreciative of the kindness and support extended to them during this time. Holly was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. She will be profoundly missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. A memorial service was held on May 3rd, 2024, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Diamond State Cremation & Mortuary Service in Lead Hill, Arkansas.
Her extended family will also be celebrating her life with services in San Diego, California and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
