Harry Dexter Hughes

Harry Dexter Hughes, 76 years old, born in Pennington Gap, Virgina, on November 14, 1948, died at home in Lead Hill, Arkansas, surrounded by his cherished wife and daughter, on October 20, 2025.

Survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda (Pusch) Hughes, his daughter Erinn Hughes, and son Bryan Hughes. Preceded in death by his parents, Dexter Hughes and Eleanor (Blair) Hughes, and his brother Tom Hughes.

Harry graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in education and from skilled trade school with a Millwright degree. He was a staunch democrat and UAW union member who worked at Caterpillar for 30 years.  The joys of Harry’s life were traveling with his wife and attending Truck-ins with the various van clubs he and Linda were members of.

Harry will be remembered by all for his giant heart and his hilarious sense of humor. There will be no services at his request. Instead of flowers, please make a donation in Harry’s name to the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements are under the care of Diamond State Cremation located in Lead Hill, Arkansas.
