Georgia Marie Carter

Georgia M. Carter was born in New Madrid County MO. to Lawson and Opal Higgins.  She married Donald Wayne Carter on April 21, 1963.  They lived in East Prairie MO. with their Four daughters until June 1985 when they relocated to Benton, KY. 

Georgia was a homemaker, self-employed housekeeper and then a Dietary Aide at Lake Way Nursing home for 16 years retiring in 2017. 

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Donald Wayne Carter, her parents: Lawson and Opal Higgins, her granddaughter AshLeigh Christien Law and sister Glenda Fay Higgins. 

Georgia is survived by her daughters:  Shelley D. Carter of Sikeston, MO, Sherry M. (David) Dillon of Harrison, AR., Sharon A. (Ronnie) Landsdown of Gainesville, MO., LaDonna L Stevenson (Max Ayers) of Wingo KY.   Her grandchildren:  April D. Wright of Mayfield KY., Victoria N. Bates of Harrison, AR., Kristienia D. Law of Walnut Ridge AR., Michael B. Stevenson of Calvert City, KY., Tony B. Parrott of Mayfield, KY., Cody Ayers of Wingo KY., and Katie Delk of Fortsmith Va.

Georgia’s surviving siblings are Gene (Kay) Higgins of East Prairie, MO., Norman Higgins of East Prairie, MO. Mary Gray of Joplin, MO., Dianna Oakley of East Prairie MO. and Carol Ivie of Kimberling City, MO.

Georgia has 7-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
