Gary Gene Nichols passed away at his home in Mount Judea, Arkansas on November 29, 2024, at the age of 77. He was born in Fresno, California, to Bee Thomas and Mildred (Campbell) Nichols.
Gary was a truck driver and a logger for most of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, they would play corn hole and card games. And yes, Gary had a competitive spirit!!! He was a huge Kansas City Chiefs, Arkansas Razorback and NASCAR fan. Also, Gary liked playing golf. One thing you can say about Gary is the fact that he adored his dog. He has had many Irish Setters throughout the years, and he has treasured every one of them.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents Bee and Mildred Nichols, his son-in-law Roger Freeman and a niece Cheryl Hamm. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Maxine (Hudson) Nichols, his 2 daughters Donna Freeman and Leslie Freeman (Stuart, his best friend). Also, four grandchildren, Karissa Nichols, Hayley (Caleb) Barnes, Jeremy Freeman and Zachary Freeman, eight great grandchildren and one on the way. His sister Charlene (Jack) Hamm, nephews Brent, Scott and Mike Hamm. Gary leaves behind longtime friends, Jerry Kent, Darlene Kent, Eddie and Carylon Criner, Dwight Pierce and special friend Brent Martin.
There will be no services per Gary’s request.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of Diamond State Cremation in Lead Hill, Arkansas.
