Garr Miller Obituary

Garr A. Miller, 60, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Garr was born on December 10, 1959, in Sacramento, California to James and Yvonne Park Miller. Garr is preceded in death by his father, and his grandparents.

Garr was an adventurous soul. As a young man, he served his country by joining the Navy where he put his intelligence to work and helped to build aerospace and aircraft in research and development for the U.S. Government. The military has always continued to be an important part of Garr's life. He member of the American Legion, Reed-Greg Post #7 in Elko, Nevada, and American Legion Riders and was a disabled veteran. As Garr's health declined, Garr traded his two-wheeler for a trike and he and Penny traveled taking in the beautiful sites and keeping his adventurous spirit alive.

Garr worked for UTC/CSD - Aero Space Industry, and then became a long-haul truckdriver. Garr and his wife Penny went on the road together and made many memories from coast to coast. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing, and he and Penny traveled with their fishing poles.

Garr loved life! He loved his family, and he loved his country. He was very humorous and loved all people, good, bad, or otherwise. Garr and Penny were introduced by a family member in San Jose, California and were married 32 magical years.

Garr is survived by his wife Penny of the home, sons: Dallas M. Gilliam (Shelly) of Ellington, Missouri and Eric M. Gilliam, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His mother: Yvonne Miller of Muscatine, Iowa and sisters: Becky L. Timewell and Kelly D. Chroninger of Henderson, Tennessee. Garr also leaves a ‘brother’: David Nicola, of Harrison, Arkansas, a daughter-in-law: Shelly Gilliam and granddaughters: Kara D. Gilliam, of Kansas City, Missouri and Katy D. Gilliam of Ellington, Missouri. Garr is also survived by his great grandson Gianni Gilliam, of Kansas City, Missouri.

Garr's 2nd best girl, Jasmine, the pit bull, will be missing her dad along with numerous friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
