Emmett Gerald “Jerry” Taylor, 83, of Lead Hill passed away on October 25, 2023. He was born on August 21, 1940, in Pindall, Arkansas to the late Gerald B Taylor and Hazel Mae Martin Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn “Candy” Mullins, sisters Billie Sue Swafford, June Cassidy, and Pat Collier.
At the age of 17 Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy. During his service he discovered his love for travel. Not one to sit still for long he lived in California and Arkansas off and on his entire life. He held many jobs during his lifetime. He was a store owner and operator, Policeman, and a truck-driver to name a few.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Cora Taylor of Lead Hill, Arkansas; three sisters Debbie Welch of Visalia, California, Kim Dias of Hanford, California, and Joyce Moore of Kansas City, Missouri; three daughters Jerri “Gigi” Yocham of Anderson Flat, Arkansas, Sherry Ramos of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Tina Rogers of Lead Hill, Arkansas; and two sons Richard Taylor of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Emmett Joshua Ray Taylor of Lead Hill, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Anderson Flat Cemetery, Everton AR. on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 at 11am with Dusty Burleson officiating.
