Dorothy Finkbeiner Obituary

Dorothy Jean Finkbeiner, 83, of Harrison, Arkansas, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving husband, Carl of 65 years and her daughter Pam on December 15, 2023, at Hospice of the Hills.  She was born on November 30, 1940, in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Heber and Pauline (Thomason) Brown.

Dorothy was an avid cross stitcher and knitter.  She gifted her finished products to many, both family and friends.  Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She was a lifelong member of Ridgeway Church of Christ.  Dorothy retired from the US Postal Service in 1992 with her last position being the Postmaster in Dogpatch, Arkansas.  She retired to help take care of her grandsons whom she adored, and she was their most amazing “Meemaw”.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her adoring husband Carl, her only child Pam (Mike) Armstrong, two amazing grandsons, Pete Armstrong and Boe Armstrong (Leanna Zimmerman) and the light of her eyes, her great grandchild, Jordan James Armstrong. Also living are Dorothy’s brother and sister, Tommy Brown and Mary Alice Brown.

A special thanks goes out to Hospice of the Hills for the great care and compassion they gave to Dorothy.  Her family has requested that any donations may be made to Hospice of the Hills, in Harrison, Arkansas.

A private ceremony for the family will be held as were her wishes.
