Don graduated from a country school between Montezuma & Barnes City. He was a very hard worker all of his life. He started out as a farmhand, working on a farm north of Grinnell until he purchased his own farm west of Montezuma in the early 1960’s. He later worked for Clow Corporation in Oskaloosa and then at Pace Industries in Harrison, Arkansas. After retiring from the factory, he started his own lawn care business in Diamond City, AR. He had multiple clients around the Bull Shoals Lake area which kept him very busy! He also did handyman work for his neighbors and was willing to help anyone in need. He is survived by his children, Jacqueline Strange of Grimes, Tim (Mary) Moore of Fairfax, Christy (John) Bushong of Montezuma, Caralee (Randy) Schmadeke of Moore, OK, David (Deanna) Moore of Montezuma, Daniel Moore of Aurora, CO and Preston (Amber) Moore of Diamond City, AR. He’s also survived by a brother, Marvin Moore, a sister June Den Hartog, 23 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews and a special friend & caretaker, Sarah Harness.
