Dobe Tharp Obituary

Dobe Tharp 86 of Omaha AR went home on April 24, 2023.

Dobe was born on Sept. 16, 1937, at home to Ellis & Goldie Dyke Tharp.  He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Lillian Killman, Ruth Leatherman, Leola Barnes, and
Bud Tharp. His “Ace in the hole” Rocky Tate that was so good to both Dobe and Tiny.

Dobe wore many hats during his lifetime, from construction on the Table Rock Dam where he fell 30 feet and was caught by a piece of rebar, running a “soda pop” route for Mosco Cash, cattle farming, owned and operated D&D Truck Stop in Omaha for many years. Last he was in real estate in Branson for 20 plus years.

He met and smoozed Frances “Tiny” LaPresto and they married on June 8, 1984. He had told many people “Tiny and I were good for each other; she saved my life.” Tiny preceded him in
death in 2015.
He loved to travel out west, where he loved the mountains, the National parks, making a casino run, horses, and the occasional bet on a ball game.

Dobe is survived by one daughter Laura Snow & Husband Shannon of Compton AR, 4 Grandchildren: Paige Pooree & Husband Brandon of Elm Springs, AR – Derek Clayborn & Wife Gabbie of Fayetteville, AR – Sallie Snow and Addy Kay Snow both of Compton AR, 5 Great Grandchildren: Irish, Mack, Bella, and CJ of Fayetteville, AR and Nora Scott Pooree of Elm Springs, AR – and his sidekick Daisy Mae his beloved dog.  His running and good buddy Jim Roberson of Omaha AR, that helped keep him busy and take care of him after Tiny died, the “son he never had” Bill Pierce of Lead Hill, AR.

Special thanks to Cathy Bonneson for her support and care and Sasha Hatfield for her kind heart and all she did to make Dobe's last days comfortable.

At Dobe’s request no services will be held. He wanted to be cremated and placed with Tiny.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
