David Allan Kelley

David Allan Kelley of Jasper AR was born September 24,1942 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston TX. The third child of John William Kelley and Florence Davis Kelley.

He was a graduate of Channelview High School, Class of 1961, where he was a member of the Math Club, Student Council, Hot Rod Club, and Band President. After high school he attended Lee College and Durham Radio-TV Electronic College. During high school he worked as a groundskeeper for the Hughes Tool Country Club, becoming a Life Guard as soon as possible!  After graduation, he started working as an installer, eventually working his way up to District manager for ADT Security Co. He lived and worked in the Channelview/ Houston area for 42 years.

David moved to Newton County, Jasper AR in 1984 to become a caregiver for his parents. He got to spend 14 months with his dad and another 21 months with his mom. Upon his dad's death in 1986 he took over as church treasurer, and shortly thereafter he started the job he loved most, becoming the church's song leader! During the past two years, David was unable to attend worship, let alone have the breath to sing, but now we can find comfort knowing he is singing and rejoicing with the angels!

David is preceded in death by his parents, John William and Florence Davis Kelley; his son, Christopher Allan Kelley; brother-in-law, E.B. "Pat" Golden; sister-in-law, Vivian Pullin Kelley; niece, Sheryl Lynn Kelley; nephews: Wesley Kelley, John Warren Kelley and Jeffrey Golden. David is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Kelley of the home; his daughter, Lisa Kelley Taylor and husband, Tim of Wayton; granddaughter, Logan Kelley and Kyle Mc Donald of Hasty; and granddaughter, Bailey Taylor of Wayton; his sister, Ruth Golden of Rowlett TX; his brother, John W. Kelley of Porter TX; and many other family and friends! David is being cremated per his wishes.

A Memorial Service/ Celebration of Life will be held at the Jasper church of Christ on Saturday, April 23rd at 2:00
