Catherine Nell Saunders

Catherine Nell Saunders, 89, of St. Joe, Arkansas, passed away at home May 4, 2021. Catherine was born April 21, 1932, in Bar Harbor, Maine, the daughter of Walter and Alice Spooner-Russell. She was proceeded in death by her Parents, Brother Russ and daughter Theresa Messick (Kelso)

Catherine was a hard worker her entire life, and she took on many different jobs. She excelled at everything that she did especially sewing. She was a top-notch seamstress and could design, pattern, and sew anything. Her vests and gowns were by far the best anyone had ever seen. Catherine’s beautiful sewing skills are how she and Roy came to be. They met while Roy needed a few clothing alterations, and the rest is history!

Catherine and Roy loved to dance together, especially they loved to waltz. Catherine loved to stay busy and when she was not working for someone else, she would go with her husband Roy and help him in whatever it was he happened to be doing. Catherine loved to be out and about, and she loved living in the beauty of the Ozarks. Catherine also had a giant love for her children and grandchildren. Catherine also loved all animals and had several at home that spent every last moment with her that they could.

Catherine is survived by her husband of many years, Roy, her children; Patrick Kelso and Mikayla Kennedy and her much loved grandchildren:  granddaughter Mikayla Messick, and Great Grandchildren Zoe Jane, Jaxon, Cole, Cage, Kyler, and Piper. 

Funeral Services will be held May 15th, 2021 at the Main Street Church of Christ (Hiway 62) in Yellville AR. at 2pm.
