Buddy Barnes Obituary

Buddy Lee Barnes, 90, of Bergman, Arkansas, passed away November 16, 2021, at home.  Buddy was born August 9, 1931, in Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Floyd and Myrtle Parker Barnes.

In Buddy’s younger years he was a stock-car racer, and when he was able to, Buddy enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and later went into the U.S. Navy.  It was while he was in the Navy that Buddy met his wife, Veradean Case.  Buddy and Veradean were married in 1957.  Buddy has 5 children, and 4 he had with Veradean. Together they settled in Arkansas.

Besides having a passion for stock-car racing and playing guitar in a band with his friends, what Buddy loved the most was his God and spreading the word and became an ordained minister.  Buddy was the best pawpaw ever and loved all his grandkids and great grandkids and great great grandkids! 

Buddy is preceded in death by his wife, Veradean, a grand-daughter, Amanda Mathis and two of his sisters.

Buddy is survived by his sons: Kenneth (Rosemary) Barnes, Gary (Leah) Barnes, and Jackie (Patricia) Sutherland.  Two daughters:  Sandra (Victor) Roberts and Linda (Brian) McGehee.  Buddy leaves 19 grand-children and 40 great-great grandchildren.

A Church service will be held at 9am, Friday, November 19, 2021, at Dominion Life Church in Bergman, Arkansas, officiated by Minister Coma Rivers, who was Buddy’s pastor for many years and his dear friend.  Interment will be in Bloomfield Cemetery, in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Pallbearers are Leah Barnes, Brittany Nance, Nikki Hampton, Brandan Hampton, Josh Massey and Matthew Barnes. 

The United States Navy will be preforming military honors.
