Barbara Louise Metz, 92, of Midway, Arkansas passed away at Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas with her family by her side. She was born on September 2, 1932, in Paragould, Arkansas, the daughter of Russell and Erma (Vaughn) Laird.
Barbara was known for her wicked sense of humor. All her family knew her as Nana. She loved her family time. Barbara enjoyed cooking and watching old Western tv shows such as Gunsmoke, Cheyenne, Maverick, Bonanza and the Lone Ranger. The grandkids and great grandchildren said some of their favorite memories were sitting around watching tv with their Nana. Barbara had a special meal she would cook for each family member’s birthday. She knew exactly what to make for them. Barbara adored all her hummingbirds, she had names for them, and she said she could identify each of them. She was passionate about crocheting. Over the years, all the family members have received hats, afghan blankets, cozy drink holders and critters.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Victor Metz, her daughter Tracy Metz and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Vicki Bailey, her four grandchildren, Misty, Wendy, Sandy and Russell. Also, Barbara leaves behind numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Barbara was a very special lady; she will be missed dearly.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of Diamond State Cremation in Lead Hill, Arkansas.
